Display messages for possible errors in the geometry and model of the carrier.
Pre-dimensioning of metal columns and beams
The new version of the program includes the option of initial pre-dimensioning of metal columns and beams.
This pre-dimensioning is based on the requirement set out in paragraph 4.4.2.3. of EC8-1 on general and local ductility conditions.
This preliminary dimensioning is carried out by checking the moment resistance of the beams and columns that meet at the node.
More specifically, to avoid the floor mechanism, for nodes where primary seismic columns and primary or secondary seismic beams are present, the following relationship must be satisfied:
or, alternatively, the ratio of the sum of the moment resistances of the columns to the corresponding sum of the moment resistances of the beams acting on the node must be greater than 1.3.
Loads
You can enter the loads you want on the members graphically. All types of loads are supported, such as uniformly distributed forces, concentrated forces, concentrated forces, torsional moments, settlements, loads due to temperature changes, etc.
The loads and combinations provided for by EC0 are automatically calculated by the program with full intervention capability by the designer.
Wind and snow loads are also automatically generated in accordance with EC1 and automatically assigned to members with corresponding load creation, ready for analysis.
Display selected load in red.
Plate loading and insertion
The recognition of slabs in SCADA SE Steel is performed automatically with automatic determination of their support conditions.
Plates of any shape and type (Conventional, Zoellner, Sandwich) are supported.
The minimum plate thickness is calculated automatically based on the slenderness check.
Slab loads can be entered collectively for all slabs or selectively with the option of immediate editing and modification.
Loads can be entered uniformly linearly or segmentally.
Loads are transferred with a single click on the columns, lintels, and coupling beams, with the corresponding leakage lines and influence areas displayed for each member.
The loads of the members are calculated using the Marcus coefficient method depending on the support conditions of the slab.
Display warning messages for possible errors in the user’s load entry.
Types of Analysis
All analysis methods are included:
Simple static analysis for vertical loads.
Linear simplified spectral method (Equivalent spectral method).
Linear dynamic spectral method.
New high-speed ACE Power Solver
The new version of SCADA SE Steel has a new super-fast multithreaded solver that totally uses the multiple cores of the latest processors and all the 4-bit RAM. This solver, combined with the latest algorithms for matrix formation, equation system solving, and large data storage, belongs to the most modern methods of high performance computing (High Performance Computing) which are applied by the most reliable software worldwide and enables the solution of very large-scale carriers.
64-bit technology for maximum speed and accuracy.
Seismic Design – Checks (EAQ, EC8)
Design spectra and checks based on EC8 and applicable Greek regulations. Possibility of importing spectra from the designer.
Classification of the body based on the provisions of EC8.
Automatic creation and calculation of load combinations for both ultimate limit states (ULS) and serviceability limit states (SLS)
Results (Post Processor)
Three-dimensional visualization of the stress and deformation state of the structure for complete oversight at all times.
The results section, presented in a modern graphical environment, provides you with all the tools you need to view the members of your structure, including color-coded diagrams for any intensive quantity, such as load, combination, or environment.
Simply select the sizes and display scale and quickly and easily locate the members with the highest stresses or deformations.
You can also see the deformed structure moving in space for any static or seismic load and mode.
Design – EC3 part 1
Automatic dimensioning of any metal and/or mixed structure, such as industrial buildings, multi-story metal structures, trusses, and canopies, in accordance with EC3.
