A4.2. Wall with Hollows

Problem Description

A two dimensional disk, subjected to inplane loading is examined (Figure A4.2.1).

Geometry, Properties and Loads

The plate of polygon shape has 25cm thickness and is subjected to a horizontal concentrated

load of 50kN. Modulus of elasticity is 29GPa and Poisson Ratio is 0.20. Finally, the

boundary at the base of the disk is fixed.

Assumptions

During analysis, theory of discs (plates under inplane loading) has been adopted.
