EXAMPLE 2: 'DESIGN OF A METAL STRUCTURE' 40 According to the Eurocode the "Seismic behaviour coefficient q" is derived from a calculation and the "Type of Construction" from specific criteria. SCADA Pro automatically calculates the q and the type of construction. The procedure that the automatic calculation requires is as follows: ❖ After filling in all the previous fields, leave as is: ❖ Select "OK" and with "Automatic Process" perform a first analysis . ❖ Knowing all the previous parameters, the program calculates the "Seismic Coefficient q". Open parameter dialog box one more time. In the "q" field read the values calculated by the program. ❖ You can proceed by keeping these values or modify them by checking the corresponding checkboxes and entering your own values (which you could done from the beginning, but then the programwould receive your values without calculating the EC8-based values).
