Detailed Description
The additional tool (add-on) about the design of steel structures includes the design of the steel structures and the design checks of the steel connections according to EC3.
It also includes, the generation of construction drawings, detailing of connections and the bill of materials as well as, the production of the full report of the project.

SCADA Pro performs all the checks referred in EC3 for the design of steel structures.
Different types of steel structures may be modelled such as industrial structures, trusses, canopies etc. The cross-section classification is automatically performed and the resistance checks are performed for all cases:
Tension,
Compression,
Bending,
Shear,
Torsion,
Bending and shear combination,
Bending and axial force combination,
Bending, axial force and shear combination.

A stability check is also carried out for the cases of:
Buckling under axial compression,
Lateral torsional buckling,

Different type of constraints at the member ends,
Imposing constraints at other points of the member apart from its ends.
The results can be presented either in summary format for a quick review, or in detailed format for a more comprehensive assessment.
The design and checking of the foundation members is also included. It concerns spread footings, footing connection beams, strip foundations and raft foundations.
The steel members are also checked at their connection to the foundation.

SCADA Propresents a rich library with more than 130 types of steel connections (welded or bolted), covering all the cases mentioned in EC3 – part 8. The user also has the option to model a steel connection using 3D surface finite elements.

A three-dimensional, scaled visualization of the connection’s detailing (bolts, end-plate) is created.
The checks may be carried out either by using the stress resultants of a load case or direct values filled in by the user.
A connection type may be saved for later use.
Members with similar type of connection may be grouped together.
The detailing of a connection is easily drawn and presented (plan, elevation or section view) and can be exported and saved in a DWG file format.

Powerful editor for the automatic creation of structural drawings
SCADA Pro gives you the ability to create automatically the 3D dwg file of your project.
It also provides a rich toolbox that contains ready-to-use symbols, annotations and sketching details, as well as special commands.
Automatic production of the drawing plan, elevation and section view of a steel connection is also available.

Bill of materials
Accurate estimation of the bill of materials
SCADA Pro produces the quantities of all the materials of a project in a well-organized tabular form.
For steel structures, the bill of materials is available per floor, per member’s section or per type of structural member (columns, beams, girders, purlins, bracing etc.).

Report of the project
User friendly interface for the creation and editing of the report
In SCADA Pro the user simply selects the sections to be included in the report of the project.
Simple tools allow the user to edit the report header and footer position chapters and create automatically the table of contents.
Beams’ results also include envelope diagrams of internal forces.
The report may be previewed before the user can save it for further editing in one of the following file formats: RTF, PDF, HTML, PPTX, XLSX.
Accompanying drawings and other details are also available and included for better reporting.
